The Babies Born Healthy (BBH) program at Cobb & Douglas Public Health helps pregnant women who do not have health insurance and are not eligible for Medicaid due to citizenship status. We work with obstetricians from the WellStar Health System who provide prenatal care at a reduced fee.

This program helps you begin prenatal care right away and pay as you go. BBH can help you find a prenatal physician and provides referrals for other services you need. BBH services are limited and cover routine prenatal visits and some lab work. You can later apply for emergency Medicaid coverage for the labor and delivery of your baby.

For women who qualify, limited funds are available from the Amerigroup Foundation and the WellStar Foundation that can help pay for a portion of your prenatal services. These funds can help pay for basic prenatal care, ultrasounds/tests and appointments with a perinatologist. These funds are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
