Georgia Power Foundation has made a generous donation to the Cobb & Douglas Health Foundation to support child safety initiatives and education for Douglas County families in need. The funds are designated for Safe Kids Douglas County, a program that works to prevent and reduce accidental injuries to Douglas County children through education and by providing safety equipment to families in need. The Cobb & Douglas Health Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Cobb & Douglas Public Health, which serves as the lead agency for Safe Kids Douglas County.

“The Georgia Power Foundation believes in the work of Safe Kids Douglas and its mission of protecting kids from preventable injuries,” said Trevor Quander, Georgia Power Area Manager for Douglas County. “Through this donation, we are pleased to help provide education and safety equipment to our Douglas County families in need.”

Donations from this grant go directly to support education and safety equipment related to home safety, child passenger safety, poison prevention, water safety, pedestrian safety, fire safety, bicycle safety and youth sports safety. The overarching goal of the program is to reduce premature death of children related to unintentional childhood injuries.
