The Cobb & Douglas Health Foundation (CDHF) has received a generous donation from Amazon to support a new community exercise area for Douglas County residents. This support helps eliminate barriers to exercise, encourage community connection, foster healthy habits, and enhance physical and mental health.

“At Amazon, we believe that strong communities are built through local partnerships and meaningful investments in health and wellness,” said Afrika Alsup, Amazon Community Engagement Manager. “We are proud to partner with community leaders like Cobb and Douglas Health Foundation to create accessible spaces where neighbors can gather, exercise, and thrive together for generations to come.”

The CDHF serves as the philanthropic arm of Cobb & Douglas Public Health, who is leading the exercise area project. The funding will support the purchase and installation of 8-12 outdoor fitness and music stations at the Douglas Public Health Center on Selman Drive as part of the overall health center expansion scheduled for 2025-26. The Douglas County Board of Commissioners and the Douglas County Board of Health have partnered to fund the health center expansion to better serve Douglas residents.
