Cobb Opioid Strategic Coalition (COSC)

County and public health officials first joined forces to address opioids and the local crisis in Cobb County on January 27, 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic paused the progress of the COSC.  However, the reboot of this meeting was held on May 20, 2022, with plans to continue the meeting quarterly.

The purpose of the COSC includes:

  • To develop a multi-discipline task force to strategically address the local opioid crisis in Cobb County.
  • To assess gaps and then seek out results-driven programs to fill those gaps, resulting in a county-wide strategic plan.
  • To eliminate duplication and redundant efforts in regards to opioids.
  • To develop a collaboration that is flexible and able to transition into other crises.

Read the latest annual progress report here. To get involved with future Cobb Opioid Strategic Coalition (COSC) meetings, email: CobbOpioidTaskforce@dph.ga.gov.
