On Friday, June 18, more than 350 people gathered at the Jim R. Miller Event Center to celebrate the final vaccination given at the park.
For exactly 16 months, Cobb & Douglas Public Health (CDPH) has used the Cobb Park’s pavilion as both a mass testing site, as well as a mass COVID vaccine site.
Many tears fell as frontline staff, healthcare workers and county partners joined together to celebrate as the vaccination efforts will now take place at the Marietta, Smyrna and Acworth-Kennesaw Public Health Centers by appointment. Vaccinations will also be given through various CDPH outreach events and through pop-up vaccination clinics administered by the nonprofit group CORE.
