Cobb & Douglas Public Health (CDPH) is pleased to welcome MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service (MAAS) CEO and community leader Pete Quinones to the Cobb Board of Health beginning 2018.

Pete Quinones founded MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service in 2000. In September 2001, MAAS was awarded 9-1-1 zones in Cobb County, including the cities of Acworth, Kennesaw, Marietta and Smyrna. Since that time, MAAS has steadily grown from a medical staff of 10 with two ambulances to a professional staff of more than 600 employees and a fleet of more than 100 vehicles, with its headquarters based in Marietta.  Part of the company’s growth included being awarded the 9-1-1 zone for the entirety of Paulding County.

From the very inception of the company, MAAS’ mission statement of “Excellence In Patient Care and Customer Service” has been the driving force behind everything the company does.  Quinones states “It is a true privilege for me to be part of the Cobb Board of Health. It is an excellent opportunity for to me to further serve those most in need within our community.”

MAAS was awarded the Health Hero Award by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce in December 2017 as a deserving organization. The award recognized Quinones’ leadership in fostering a culture of philanthropy which encourages employees to actively serve on planning teams and participate in community emergency response and recovery exercises.

Quinones joins the Cobb Board of Health, replacing former board member and retired educator Judi Snelson, whose term ended December 31, 2017.

He will join Board Chair Dr. Carol Holtz, distinguished lecturer and current professor of nursing at Kennesaw State University; Board Vice-Chair Mr. W. Wyman Pilcher, III, retired former president of First National Bank of Cobb County; Mr. Mike Boyce, chairman of Cobb County Board of Commissioners; Dr. Royden Daniels of RED Radiology, LLC; Mr. Chris Ragsdale, superintendent of Cobb County School District; Dr. Grant Rivera, superintendent of Marietta City Schools; and Mayor Steve “Thunder” Tumlin, City of Marietta.
