The Marietta Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program recently re-opened with expanded space and capacity inside of Cobb & Douglas Public Health’s newly renovated Building B.
The improved clinic boasts 15,000 sq. feet of space, including: four private nursing rooms for breastfeeding mothers; 12 check-in areas to better serve clients and reduce wait time; three lobbies with stroller parking, TVs and play stations for families while they wait; 17 nutrition counseling rooms; two multi-capacity nutrition classrooms; and one breastfeeding-specific classroom.
The expansion is a marked improvement from the WIC office’s previous 5,000 sq. feet set-up, and provides clients with more specialized service at decreased wait times for all appointments, allowing CDPH to serve more clients and increase the level of care each resident who visits the WIC clinic receives.
