Cobb & Douglas Public Health (CDPH) is hosting the ‘Global Big Latch On’ – a worldwide event in which mothers from more than 120 countries gather to nurse simultaneously in a demonstration of the importance of healthy nutrition for babies, and support of nursing mothers everywhere. The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, July 31 beginning at 10 a.m.

The event is sponsored by the CDPH Women, Infant & Children Supplemental Nutrition (WIC) program. Residents interested in participating in the event can visit one of three locations around Cobb and Douglas counties:

“We hope that all nursing moms will attend and celebrate this event with us,” said Laurie Ross, director of Family Health Management at Cobb & Douglas Public Health. “We really want to educate new moms about the benefits of breastfeeding and this event gives them an opportunity to share their experiences and learn from others.”
