Safe Kids Cobb County and Safe Kids Douglas County recently received donations from Amerigroup’s Community Relations Fund. Safe Kids Cobb received a donation for child passenger safety educational supplies and equipment, and Safe Kids Douglas received funds which will help to expand the Youth Sports Safety Program.

“The generous donations from Amerigroup will help our Safe Kids programs ensure that our young people can live, grow and play in a safe environment,” said Viva Price, Cobb & Douglas Public Health (CDPH) Safe Kids Coordinator for Cobb and Douglas Counties. “We are truly grateful for Amerigroup’s support and their commitment to protecting our children.”

Safe Kids Douglas and Safe Kids Cobb programs extend crucial prevention services to residents in Cobb and Douglas counties with a special focus on childhood safety and reducing children’s accidents. They provide car seat inspections along with education on poison prevention, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and home and water safety to ensure that children in Cobb and Douglas counties will have a safe place to grow and play, free from unintentional injuries. Safe Kids Cobb is co-led by Cobb & Douglas Public Health and the WellStar Health System. Safe Kids Douglas is led by Cobb & Douglas Public Health.
