World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) is an annual celebration held every year from August 1 to 7 in more than 120 countries. To recognize the importance of WBW, Cobb & Douglas Public Health (CDPH) WIC Breastfeeding Program, along with the West Georgia Breastfeeding Coalition, is hosting “A Day in the Park” on Saturday, August 16 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at NoonDay Creek Park in Kennesaw.

The event is open to the public and is being held to provide information and to answer questions about the importance of breastfeeding. Vendors will include Zip Milk, Georgia Breastfeeding Coalition, and Amerigroup.

Objectives for “A Day in the Park” include:

  • To provide information to the community about breastfeeding. 
  • To call attention to the importance of promotion and support of breastfeeding.
  • To stimulate interest among young people to see the relevance of breastfeeding.
