Marietta, Georgia – On Friday, June 27, 2014, Cobb & Douglas Public Health (CDPH), will provide free, rapid HIV testing & counseling in honor of National HIV Testing Day. Testing will be offered at the CDPH Marietta Public Health Center, located at 1650 County Services Parkway in Marietta from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 

 According to the Georgia Department of Community Health, Georgia ranked sixth in the nation for cumulative HIV/AIDS cases in 2009, with 65 percent of those cases living in the Metro-Atlanta area. As part of the Metro-Atlanta area, CDPH is committed to ensuring the community understands that they are not powerless in this fight by offering education and assistance.

“Activities such as these provide residents with critical information and resources to fight this epidemic”, said Rachel Franklin, CDPH Director of Epidemiology.

This free event is open to everyone. All testing results are confidential and are available in 20 minutes.
