Cobb & Douglas Public Health’s Center for Emergency Preparedness and Response is excited to announce plans to host the upcoming, must-attend Community Response Summit to be held at the Senior Services Wellness Center in Marietta on Thursday, Jan. 30.
This summit is the second in the Preparedness through Recovery series, and is designed to help inform, educate, and empower attendees on the responsibilities of public health during a response. It will also outline how to mobilize within the community to prepare to assist public health during a disaster.
The summit is designed for community organizations and stakeholders. This includes anyone that is tasked with emergency activities including faith-based communities and people with special needs to help build community collaborations, determine roles, identify and leverage community assets/resources and participate in events that benefit the community, as resources allow.
“We are excited about hosting the Community Response Summit and believe attendees will leave the conference with an understanding of the importance of preparedness, education, volunteering and mobilizing within the community during a public health emergency,” commented Leticia Mathis, Deputy Director, Cobb & Douglas Public Health’s Center for Emergency Preparedness and Response.
The summit is free to all attendees. To register go to http://www.amiando.com/ZFQTOEK or contact Kellie McDaris at 678-784-1080 for additional information.
